MidCo Material Handling has donated two Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Super Bowl XLVIII tickets to the local Heartbeat—Serving Wounded Warriors giving a new meaning to “Real Super Bowl Veterans.”
Heartbeat—Serving Wounded Warriors is a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance, therapeutic services, support groups, and morale-building programs for wounded service members and their families in Washington state. The organization offers programs to wounded and injured service members from all branches of the military: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy.
“We’ve been Seattle Seahawk season ticket holders for over two decades and we were excited to be able to get two tickets to Super Bowl XLVII. Then we realized we had 97 employees and 96 of them are 12th Man Super Fans - which two of us would get to go? As a company, all employees decided it would be best to give the gift of Super Bowl tickets to some local wounded warriors that were true Seattle-based fans,” stated Phil Hanford, Vice President, MidCo Material Handling.
He continued, “As all the sports pundits note, the Seahawks are not Super Bowl player veterans. Since making the decision to donate the tickets and $2,000 travel budget to the Heartbeat - Serving Wounded Warriors program, it has been incredible to see our fellow business vendors jump at the chance to say thank you and help these true heros that are “Real Super Bowl Veterans.” Our business colleagues have helped with everything from food, hotel and other travel related expenses. The real take away from this experience has been that every single person or company we reached out to was honored to assist, proving the gratitude all of us feel toward these Veterans.”
Heartbeat—Serving Wounded Warriors has selected the two veterans who remain anonymous that will be receiving this gift for their past service. “We are so grateful for MidCo Material Handling making this Super Bowl trip happen for two of our heroes,” stated Janice Buckley, President and Founder, Heartbeat—Serving Wounded Warriors. “We are thankful for the support we receive from all businesses and invite other local businesses to honor local wounded warriors and their families through the Heartbeat’s Business Partner Program.”
